Insurance Help

        Soderstrom Dermatology Center, S.C. is a full service Dermatology and Plastic Surgery clinic, with a fully certified ambulatory surgery center and cosmetic medical day spa included.  Essentially, everything you need for total skin care is conveniently available within our facility. 

        We work with most insurance carriers to file claims according to their billing standards. It may be necessary to perform multiple services or procedures to help with your total care.  These include, but are not limited to your office visit, surgery, instrument tray, pathology reports, handling fees, and other appropriate diagnosis and treatment services.  Because we offer such a complete range of services to meet your medical needs, (i.e. on-site laboratory, drug room, and pathology reading, outpatient surgery center facility), if all of these services occur in the same visit for expeditious service to you, your charges may include these multiple services. 

        We will bill your insurance for you.  We will ask that you be responsible for meeting any applicable deductibles and co-pays at the time of your service, unless prior arrangements have been approved.  If you pay in full at the time of service, a refund check will be sent to you once your insurance has paid.  These refund checks are cut on a weekly basis.  Our knowledgeable staff of patient relations specialists are available to assist you in person or by phone at 309-690-6099.  Cosmetic procedures are considered non-covered procedures by insurance.

HMO's & PPO's

        We have agreements with a number of HMO's and PPO's.  Patients of those not under contract with us are welcome as well.

Insurance Currently Accepted:

        If you are covered by one of these plans, we will file a claim with your insurance company.  Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Caterpillar will be filed electronically with a response from the insurance company in three to five weeks.  The amount for which are you are responsible (any known deductible, co-payments, co-insurance, non-covered services or cosmetic services) is required at the time of service or even prior to service for cosmetic procedures. 

        If you do not have one of the plans with which the practice is contracted, the total cost of your visit is required at the time of service.  As a courtesy, we will file the claim to your insurance for you the following business day.  Your insurance company may reimburse for all, none, or a portion of your service charges, depending upon your policy and your insurance company's coverage limitations.  Coverage can be affected by co-insurance, deductibles, and non-covered service amounts, as well as usual and customary benefit reductions.

        For your convenience in paying, our office accepts MasterCard, Visa, and Discover, in addition to cash and checks.  Financing options are available; please speak with our Patient Relations Specialist.
