Our exclusive products are manufactured with Pharmaceutical-Grade ingredients. Products are not made to be only "Feel Good Products," as they contain unique and innovative ingredients in concentrations that can assist you in the achievement of your own personal skincare objectives. Our facility offers products with higher percentages of Glycolic, Vitamin A, C, E, Co-Q10, green tea, than what you can usually purchase over the counter.
A good skincare routine consists of the following four steps: Cleanse, Enhance, Hydrate, and Protect.
- Cleanse - Cleansing your skin with a cleanser formulated for your skin type both morning and evening will help to remove dirt and oil than can clog pores.
- Enhance - Enhancing your skin with a product that contains an active ingredient will help prevent and improve your skin's imperfections. Some of the results include, but are not limited to, the reduction of redness, stimulating collagen growth, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, and improving acne breakouts and scarring.
- Hydrate - Hydrating the skin helps to achieve a smooth and supple complexion. Hydrating is a vital part of replenishing the loss of moisture caused by exposure to the elements, i.e., sun, wind, and cold.
- Protect - Protecting your skin from the sun is the most important step in maintaining healthy looking skin. Apply a sunscreen with at least an SPF30 everyday as part of your skincare regimen.
Cosmeceuticals
Through our Day Spa, Skin Dimensions, we are happy to make available to you Bare Escentuals, cosmetic products, and Skin Dimensions, SB, our line of cosmeceutical products. Historically speaking, if the purpose of a product is to mitigate, prevent or treat a disease, it is automatically categorized as a drug, requiring the manufacturer to demonstrate the safety and efficacy before approval. By contrast, a product that was simply intended to beautify, or improve appearance, would be assigned to the category of a cosmetic and could be sold without the necessity to establish safety and efficacy prior to sale. In addition, a cosmetic basically, has no demonstrable obvious effect on the structure or function of the skin.
In the past few decades, active biological products have been incorporated into some cosmetics thus defining cosmeceutical. These products are basically not proven to have effiicacy on skin function and are categorized as cosmetics with active ingredients. All of our cosmetics and cosmeceuticals are intended to improve appearance and healthy skin. They do not have magical chemicals that reverse aging or cure anything. They are what they are which is cosmetics and cosmeceuticals. Our cosmetics and cosmeceuticals do just what they are intended to do. They help cover up skin blemishes, they help improve appearance, and they help with skin feel and perceptions of healthy skin.
We have many options available, other than cosmeceuticals, for those who wish to use them. For example, we have Vanicream for a moisturizer, Robathol for bath oil, and other moisturizers as well. In addition, any products with active ingredients in them may also be purchased on the internet or at makeup and cosmetic counters in major department stores locally or elsewhere.
All products may have side effects such as redness, irritation, itching and swelling. If any of this occurs, stop the product immediately and let us know. Make sure not to overuse a product, follow instructions and keep regular appointments.
At our Day Spa and Practice, we are committed to the American Academy of Dermatology's ethical guidelines on use, recommendations, marketing and sale of cosmetics and cosmeceuticals. Those are as follows:
